The ECS Approach

ECS concentrate on solving your problem efficiently, effectively and economically.

Initial contact meeting

Our initial contact meeting is an exploratory meeting for which there is no charge. The meeting allows you to judge the suitability of ECS in solving your problem and for us to ensure that your needs can be fully documented and delivered.  We will spend time understanding your business, so that we can determine the project feasibility and the likely business benefits that you will gain.

Draft and agree assignment

Following the initial contract meeting if there is commitment to proceed we will draft an assignment document.

The jointly approved assignment is key in documenting the contract between you and ECS.

For a simple project, a standard assignment will be drafted and agreed by both parties. For a more in-depth project, a chargeable short-term consultancy agreement is required to fully capture and document your requirements.

The assignment will address the following:

  • Objective - Clearly identifying the assignment scope.
  • Delivery plan - Setting delivery milestones.
  • Delivery list - Detailing each component for delivery against a milestone.
  • Cost - Detailing the total cost of the assignment broken down by stage payments.
  • Success criteria - Used to demonstrate the successful completion of the assignment.
  • Training - If required can be provided for End Users, Support staff or Developers.
  • Reporting frequency - Regular scheduled management and technical meetings to monitor progress.

Complete assignment

Once the assignment is agreed and approved, ECS is able to focus on delivering the assignment leaving you free to concentrate on your core business.

You can have total confidence in the quality and speed of work, as ECS will report back regularly at a frequency that is the most suitable for you.

Handover assignment

This will be a formal meeting to conclude the assignment, at which ECS will demonstrate that all components on the delivery list have been delivered and all success criteria have been met.

One of the key components on the delivery list is a full and complete set of documentation and for development assignments a full set of source code.

Support

All I.T. Systems require an element of support to keep them running smoothly and ECS is able to provide appropriate Support Level Agreements (SLAs).  Support contracts ensure that we maintain the necessary development and test environments.  Some minor changes can also be delivered if funding allows.  Should a further development become necessary we are already up to speed and ready to work on your project.
